Why recertify?

Your TikTok Media Buying Professional Certification is valid for two years from the date you pass your exam. Recertification keeps your credential current and demonstrates that you’re up to date with the latest TikTok ad product best practices, features, and policies. If you do not recertify before your credential expires, you will need to take the full certification exam again.

When you're eligible for recertification

You become eligible for recertification six months before your certification expiration date.

Here's an example:

  • Certification issued: April 3, 2024
  • Eligible to recertify: October 3, 2025
  • Must complete recertification by: April 2, 2026

When recertifying early, the certification is extended 12 months from the original expiration date—not from the date the recertification exam was taken.

Recertification process overview

If you are eligible to recertify, you will see the option to register for the recertification exam directly within your Webassessor portal:

  1. Log into your Webassessor account.
  2. Under your certification, find the recertification exam option.
  3. Select a date and time (online delivery only).
  4. Complete the exam within your eligibility period.
